For Like Ever ~ Forever?

A bit of a tongue twister on that post title! So.. I'm curious about what you think about something... In 2006, Domino magazine featured this poster on the cover of their September issue.

The print, designed by Tracy Jenkins for Village, sold out almost immediately. It's been reprinted a few times since, but currently has not been available for like ever...:)

In a way, I agree that it's "been done", but I still love it. I'm a bit of a sucker for pink and I love the sweet simple message. Possibly because I lived through the Clueless fame..?

Here are some of my favorite images across the web, which feature the print.

These two are in the home of designer Anna Spiro. The first one is prior to the wallpaper (which totally reminds me of the wallpaper in my bedroom, paired with my pink Audrey print)

Like I said, it's currently not available. But, I'm following the updates on facebook, just for fun. Apparently, they will be available this week, but I'm not holding my breath. One, because they seem to sell out quickly. Two, because with each printing, the price seems to rise... out of my budget :)

What do you think?
Five years later, has this print been overexposed?
Has it suffered the fate of Keep Calm Carry On? (who am I kidding, I love mine..)
Or, is it a fresh and forever classic?

  1. i am with you- i love it! it has not gotten as stale as keep calm and carry on- now that one makes me nauseous! but i think for like ever has a little more staying power. it has to be limited in print for it to be able to stay cool. :)

  4. I love it too. Sara Mueller from Dose of Pretty just bought a print. Reproduction?? Clueless is an all time favorite though. So many lines worth quoting. ;-)

  5. I don't think it's overdone, and I still love my "Keep Calm and Carry On" print too.

I think as long as you love it, that's all the matters. Who cares if all of the design blogs and mags say that things are overdone? What do they know anyways ;)

    Good luck! x

  11. I really do like this print...it's just a good addition to any room...but is it a forever classic? 'Fraid not. But hey, enjoy it while you can right? It's definitely not as completely overdone as the Keep calm and carry on...and I still love mine, too...(c: TGIF!

  12. Great post. I too was a teen in the Clueless phase, when jewellery was even stamped with Cluesless phrases. Ahhhh, memories. I loved this poster when I first saw it in Domino, way back when. But then because it became so ubiquitous, I never sought to purchase. But it is so pretty. I love seeing it reside in such a diverse assortment of spaces - thanks for rustling up all of these pics.
