White Painted Floor ~ Part 2 & A Finished Kitchen!

We are more than thrilled by how the painted floor turned out! The room now feels so complete, fresh and CLEAN!

Remember what it looked like before?

I love how it looks with the white walls and black cabinets. I have to give huge kudos to Stephane who built all the cabinets himself. The doors were all made by cutting out the panels of the old solid wood doors he removed from the house. Walking through the house in the beginning was like a maze! You opened one door only to encounter another... Quite the opposite of open concept! The result is cupboards that looks as if they've been there for a hundred years. (In a good way!)

The chandelier offers a a bit of a traditional touch but, being white, allows it to feels fresh and modern. The large rectangular sink and restaurant style faucet are pretty cool too! The huge island with solid birch countertop is both beautiful and useful, providing lots of counter space and storage.

What do you think? Are you a fan of painted floors? You can catch Part 1 of the process here.

I wish so much that we had better pictures to show you so that you could see the whole transformation. Believe me.. it was u.g.l.y.... sorry Steph! :) Don't you agree that his hard work has paid off?

The painted floors are fabulous!!! I love how it looks with all the black cabinets..I would love to have painted floors, although I need wood floors first lol. I just ripped out my carpet in my closet and want to get unfinished wood floors so I can paint them in a high gloss light blue.

They turned out really nice. I'm a fan of painting floor boards if the alternative isn't in the budget. I especially love them in bathrooms.
The whole room is so pretty.
I'm just glad it's not me who's gonna have to keep those white floors clean! :o)

It's beautiful! Like something out of a magazine. And I love that the cabinets were built from the doors. How awesome is that?

it looks beautiful! I've always loved painted floors and have wished for a home with floors bad enough to justify me painting them. Next house will be it! :)

OOoohhhh, very pretty. Love the whole kitchen. The white floors makes the darkness of the island POP.

Is that a concrete counter top?

Krista, the countertop is solid birch, not concrete! Thanks for the comments everyone!

A.....mazing!!! I had a dishwasher leak this summer and had all the floors in the house painted white! I love them and was scared at first but now I just pinch myself that they really are mine :) Love the black cabinets also.

Beautiful photos! I wish I was a do it yourself-er! You must be so proud of yourselves for creating a beautiful space on your own! When we remodeled our kitchen, we had to hire NJ granite countertops to come do it for us! Great post!

White painted floors look really clean and cool, giving the area a modern feel. Painting floors is becoming one of the affordable alternatives in revamping flooring systems these days. Being in the flooring Houston industry, it gives me pride to know that we are giving clients many choices for their floor improvements.

Your white floors look marvelous! The finish made the kitchen look squeaky clean and bright. And I like the classic touch that antique-looking chandelier and birch countertop bring to the area. I'm sure you'll have a grand time cooking in your kitchen now that it's renovated! It is quite easy and fun to make delicious dishes for your family when you have such a wonderful environment surrounding you.

The result is really stunning, as it brought a brighter, more sanitary look and feel. Painting the old floor can really be a hard job to work on especially if you’re to do it by yourself, but it’s worth the wait. One con of doing this is that you have to do it over and over again, since plain floor painting can be more prone to fading.
