The room has a strange shape, almost an L with a small alcove in the center of the room. It was covered in wallpaper, which had been applied directly over the plaster walls. This made removing it a chore I wasn't looking forward to.
With that job out of the way, I painted out all the walls and trim white and applied wallpaper behind the headboard.
Here it is the room all finished!
I picked up an old headboard at a used furniture store and painted it black.
I also added some IKEA side tables.
Still love my Audrey Hepburn print. A little girl glam for the room:) Speaking of Audrey, I think Michelle Williams is the blonde Audrey.. how gorgeous was she at the Oscars?
I made the roman shades, using Jenny's how-to with Premier Print's Chipper fabric.
The two light fixtures are from Canadian Tire.
The mirror was a Homesense find.
The piggy bank is from Dollarama. My change from waitressing tips add up pretty quick!
The dresser was one my Dad was getting rid of. I painted it black and added some glass knobs.
So, there you have it! My black and white bedroom. A project that started out with tears and now feels clean and crisp!
Gorgeous bedroom! I love how you put wallpaper pnly behind your bed to accent it. A room with nooks and crannies and a slanted ceiling is way more interesting than a plain old square room if you ask me!
ReplyDeletelooks lovely...your walls and my walls could get together and form a club...love the wallpaper treatment behind the bed...though i am one girl who will never (ever) wallpaper anywhere!

ReplyDeleteLOVE the new paper!
ReplyDeleteIsn't stripping the worst? I had to scrape a two story stair wall and dubbed in the wall from hell.
All the work certainly paid off!
Tres chic! I love the optical illusion that the pattern behind the headboard creates... you almost can't tell the wall/ceiling is sloped in the straight-on shots. Nice job. That chair is going to be divine reupholstered.
ReplyDeleteI love that mirror! Wallpaper removal makes everyone cry - don't feel bad :)
ReplyDeleteSooo pretty, and I LOVE that black and white mirror! :-)
ReplyDeleteCompletely smitten with this gorgeous room...the fact that you have Audrey in there is just the icing on the cake! LOVE.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so amazing! I love black & white together with just a splash of Pink...awesome. P.S. I am obsessed with Audrey and Michelle Williams has the platinum pixie cut for her role as Marilyn Monroe. She looked amazing ;) Great job on the room!!!!
