Bedroom Reveal.

I've been poking away at this bedroom here and there for a while now. Finally, I feel like it's time to share it with you. There are a few little things to do but for now, it's finished.

The duvet cover was picked up at Winners. I love the pretty ruffles and the cotton is very soft and washes well. I should have ironed it a bit for the photos but hey, it's summer I'm lazy.. The pillows were made using fabric from Tonic Living and Spoonflower.

The dresser was a diy refinishing project we tackled in the spring. A lot of work but we are very happy with how it turned out and looks great in the room.

The curtains are the Ritva panels from Ikea. I really like them but a couple of warnings. They are more cream than white and they shrank a 3-4 inches when I washed them. It drives me bonkers that they are a tad too short now. I may add some trim at some point.

I'm still unsure about what to do with the window over the bed. I love the light it lets in the room and the window itself is pretty but I wonder if I should put a roman shade of some sort or a bamboo blind like in the other window. I'd love your thoughts on this.

The headboard was a diy project as well. I still plan to add some nailhead trim detailing. The side table is in need of a paint job. I'm thinking of going with a darker grey. These projects are on the never ending to do list, of course.

So that's it.. a mostly finished, happy for now bedroom!
Have a great day!

Bedroom Makeover Take 2.

It's makeover time! I have picked away at the guest room and never really finished it. That room is now also a room for Gaby on the weekends so that got the ball rolling to get things going. And of course, it's headed in a completely different direction than at the outset.

I'm heading to Charlottetown this evening with my sister and hope to pick up some paint for the walls. This is what I'm thinking. I've seen the color and really like it but was also sold by the description!

Hard to believe that as much as I love grey, there isn't a grey room in my house! I'm not decided on any particular fabric just yet but Cashmere is a nice neutral and should work with whichever direction I go.

Speaking of fabric. My samples arrived from Tonic Living! Pretty patterns make me giddy:)

I kind of chuckled when I saw Shellilee's nursery photos for the first time. Apparently we have the same taste in fabric. Several of them were used in her room. Great minds think alike! Isn't Baby M's room beautiful? If you missed it, you can check it out here.

Looking forward to getting some shopping done this evening. It seems it's been forever! I'm also getting new paint for the dining room! I've got the big plans.. stay tuned!

Guest Bedroom ~ Bits and Pieces

I've mentioned it before, but when I moved into the house, I painted the spare bedroom and never really decorated. It has become a bit of a drop zone for baskets of clean laundry and clutter and is driving me crazy!

Slowly, I've been picking away at the room. Here is a peak at some of the progress:

A thrifted bedside table got a coat of paint. I'm totally digging navy blue these days.
The color is Navy Blazer by Debbie Travis.

after:
*it looks royal blue in this light, but it's actually much darker

And a couple of new navy striped pillows. Using my new sewing skills these days!

a starburst mirror from my entrance found a new home in the room:

I added some navy trim to a simple cream drum shade:

It's starting to come together, but not quite there just yet. Be patient, I'll post a reveal soon!
