Dining Room Curtain Fabrics.

I mentioned in a previous post that I ordered new curtains for the dining room from Pottery Barn. Long story short, after an incorrect order and two replacements that never arrived, I cancelled my order.

So that means that I've resorted to option #2.. have them made! In retrospect, perhaps I should have done that from the start so as to get exactly what I want.

The problem is that I'm so indecisive that I can't choose a fabric! I ordered 3 swatches from my favorite Canadian source, Tonic Living. I'm hoping one of them will work in the room.

Painterly florals are my current love but will I tire of them?

Or maybe I should play it safe and go with white linen? I do think the room needs some color/pattern.

Here is my curtain-less dining room currently. Which ones do you like? Do you have any other suggestions for me?

Hmmm.. decisions, decisions...

  1. I like both of the florals, #2 then #1 if I had to put them in order. I think I like the whiteness of the background of the second fabric.

  2. It's definitely calling for color/pattern! I especially love the first print!

  3. I just made a set of curtains for my bedroom with the Gazebo, Cloud fabric from Tonic Living. I too was worried about the floral fabric, but it actually adds a lot to the bedroom I think. I'd go for it! I do prefer Fleur fabric over the Brooklyn one for a dining room curtain though. The scale of the Brooklyn fabric is a little large for me...

  4. I think you could get away with some fun prints in this room. I like the first I think!

  5. I like the Brooklyn Dove pattern but an Ikat in blue and gray would look good too. A medium verticle stripe is always a classic look.

  6. Definitely colour and pattern. I like both florals, but maybe #1 a bit more.

  7. I love the plain linen. I think if you are going to spend the money to get drapery made, get something classic! Add pops of colour in other things. That is just my "safe" side speaking because if I could, I would go with patterned fabric!

  8. I love the Brooklyn Dove. That punch of Blue would be a great backdrop to accessorizing with practically any colour. Especially, green, yellow and orange or why not a pop of pink.
Thanks for your post. I have been looking for curtain fabric for, well forever, and am so excited to disover this Canadian source. Can't wait to see what you choose and how they look in the room.
