For take 2, we are heading outside! What do you think of this?
You guessed it! Who doesn't love cedar shingles! They really fit into the landscape here in PEI. Although, they are not the most affordable option so you don't see a lot of them. I really love the natural look but I really enjoy seeing them in different shades of grey as well.
In Quebec this summer, we came across this seaside home. Although we didn't love the color scheme, the weathered shingles and the simple shape of the home really spoke to us. I often think about it. Someday!
Have a great weekend!
Ooo this is great! I've repainted my shingle house grey (with white trim) and painted my front door red - I just love how yellow and blue looks now too - thanks!
ReplyDeleteLOVE cedar shake! guess who else loved our cedar shake roof - the termites! we now have a tin roof.
ReplyDeleteLove the cedar shingles, but also noticed the hydrangea. How do people get them to grow so big? We've had ours for 5 years and they haven't gotten any bigger! So not fair!
ReplyDeleteHey Jane! I love the shake houses! They remind me of a beach house in the Hampton's! I also wanted to let you know I awarded you The Versatile Blogger Award today!
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend!

Wow, Jane, you've pretty much nailed my dream home! I adore the style/siding on all of these homes!
ReplyDeleteYes, just lovely, this is my favorite kind of siding! I cant even begin to imagine how much it would cost!
ReplyDeleteI love the gray shingles! They are all such beautiful homes.
ReplyDeleteThat yellow door is adorable next to the gray shingles.
ReplyDeleteThese homes are so approachable - love them especially the shutters and white picket fence in the third one. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWould be nice to walk through the front door of any of those homes.
ReplyDeleteCedar shakes are VERY big here on the west coast! Virtually every new house built or exterior reno includes shake siding! love the look...very coastal...!
ReplyDeleteI also noticed the gorgeous hydrangeas! best flowering shrub ever!!
Love that style. The first is my absolute fave. I don't know what it is that draws me to siding, especially cedar shakes.
ReplyDeleteI must have shingle siding some day!!! Just stumbled on your blog and I am a new follower :)
