Fashion is easy. Buy a few gold pieces of jewelery, an embellished top and some fun nail polish and you are good to go.
But the rise of gold in home decor was actually stressing me out! Didn't I just completely decorate my home the last couple of years in cool shades of blue, white, grey and SILVER? ahhh.. what to do? I've decided to just go with it. I actually really like the combination of the two metals and plan to mix them in my decor. It's all about making what you love work!
I've created a collection of some of my favorite gold products for your inspiration today. Why hide from it when it's just so darn beautiful!
Don't try to tell me you aren't loving it too!
Your post reminds me of a recent Rachel Zoe episode I saw. Her favorite color ever is what she calls "Gliver" (a mesh of gold/silver shimmer). Love some of the decor items you posted above!
ReplyDeleteI do love it...and I think my daughter needs that copy of the Great Gatsby asap!
ReplyDeleteGold gold, comes in and out so often. I still have a few frames with gold leaf but I'm still a silver girl but I do love a little gold :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Monday!
XO
I have been gravitating towards a little more gold as well. I really like that it warms up a space when you have cooler colors in the room. Just bought a gold tank top as well ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the pieces that you chose. I think gold is that special addition to every place. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree - go with what you love! My wedding/engagement rings are gold b/c I know it suits me better, but I love the mix of gold and silver. I adore the inspiration items you chose for this post!
ReplyDeleteI've always liked gold better than silver. I'm glad to see it make a comeback!
ReplyDeleteI think adding warm gold tones to the blues and silver will be perfect! Yes! It has taken me a while to jump on the gold bandwagon, but I am on and the ride is beautiful! Mixing metals is even more in than just gold by itself!

I'm so on the gold train! And I love mixing metals too... you can totally pull it off in your spaces!
ReplyDeleteI love all the gold; I especially like that bowl!
ReplyDeleteI've always been a silver girl, but I've slowly started getting into gold over the last couple of years (starting with my engagement/wedding rings). Love this inspiration - especially those glasses!
ReplyDeleteI love everything gold. Kind of obsessed with it! I love your board... I have that necklace and I wear it almost every day!
ReplyDeleteFor the longest time I fought any combo of silver & gold. I would go so far as to be offended when I'd see someone wearing a gold ring and a silver watch - don't they know that doesn't match?!? Thankfully I've wizened up in my old age and I'm actually starting to love a combination of burnished metals. If done right it can actually look very sophisticated. I think the key is not to go overly shiny & new. There needs to be a bit of a patina to help tie it all together. The pictures you posted today all have a bit of "age" to them even though they're obviously new items.
ReplyDeleteGold is my new favorite thing. I used to be a strict silver girls and now I pair both all of the time, well, because I love both. The dipped cups are just amazing. Where did you find that necklace?? I have been searching for one like that but with a long, thin leaf!
ReplyDeleteTotally digging gold these days too. Loved all your choices here.
ReplyDeleteI love this collage of tones. Especially the nail polish. I just added some gold tones to my apartment and it really jazzes up the place. I want more pieces to add. It feels like Ancient Egyptian when you add a lot of gold but hey, it's fun and it's yours, so why not.
ReplyDeleteI've actually been surprised that I do like the gold tones. I think I like it because while it's gold, it's a bit more muted. Love your board. very chic.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.....I like gold in other peoples' houses, but I'm hesitating about using it in my own. I think I'm still more of a silver girl.
ReplyDeleteI like little pops of gold, but can't completely committ to the whole trend. That said, that gold light fixture you posted is to-die-for.
ReplyDeleteTotally digging gold these days too! Great round-up:)
ReplyDeleteI've been digging gold too recently! Love all of your gold finds!
ReplyDeleteYep, so agree with you! It's so much easier to introduce gold into your wardrobe but how do you introduce it into your home without looking like something out of an 80s drama series? I think subtle touches are the answer! I love your choices, particularly the lamp fitting!
