Mirror, Mirror on the Wall.

It's obvious that I love anything painted. Paint has the power to transform a tired piece of furniture into something wonderful. Lately, I've been spotting beautiful painted mirrors that add that perfect, unexpected pop of color to a room. If you can't commit to painting a piece of furniture, it's the perfect solution. A simple mirror can have a new life with just a can of spray paint!
My spare bedroom, which has been put on the back burner lately, desperately needs that pop. I'm on the hunt for a large mirror to place over the dresser. That mirror will be getting a peppy makeover. Maybe navy blue, green or even coral?
Here are some inspiration pics from Pinterest.. seriously, what would we bloggers do without Pinterest?

Here is a little tip for you. When painting a mirror or glass, don't bother taping it off. A sharp blade will easily remove the paint afterward and allows for a clean, crisp edge. Plus, saves time!
I can't wait to find the perfect mirror:)

  1. These are all beautiful! Maybe you could find one at Colson's. I never have luck there. I guess I don't have your eye!

  2. Thanks for the tip at the end about not having to tape off a mirror when painting. I'm going to be doing the rather large mirror in our bedroom and I've been thinking about how I would go about taping around it - well now I won't be, yay!

As I was made well aware of this weekend at the blogger meet up I really need to head over to pinterest - I'm just so worried it will suck more of my time...but I've been told it will be a time saver...so I guess I'll just have to try it to find out :) hope you had a nice weekend and are gearing up for your last week (hopefully) of school!

  11. Love these photos. I just bought my (third) ornate mirror this weeked at a yard sale. I have a huge one painted white and outfitted as a display for cards, the second I made into a magnetic board and thus is a dark charchoal grey, so this newest one I want to paint a fun, bright colour.

  12. I totally agree!! I find myself not overlooking a painting or picture simply due to the frame, as it can easily be changed!! I just picked up a green/aqua-y mirror in the same style as the first image you have, but same color as the last image you have from Homesense. I have no idea where it'll go in my house, but I couldn't pass it by!!

  14. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I read that last bit of advice on LGN and tried it and I found that the paint didn't come all the way off to easily. So personally, I'm going to keep taping my mirrors. Love the look, though!

  16. I'm on the hunt for a mirror to paint too! (Or at least a funky frame to transform into a bulletin board. Preferably both.) Happy hunting and I am excited to see what color you end up going with.
