Octo-fy Your Home

I while ago, I came across this image and it got me thinking...

via decorpad
I think the octopus is the new bird in decor. Remember when birds were everywhere? Little bird figurines (guilty of having at least 5), art, wall decals of birds on branches. Now, I seem to see octopuses (thought it might be octopi, but I looked it up and it's not!) everywhere. And I like it.

I saw the same print in a room designed by Thom Filicia. This time a dining room.

I did a little research and came to find out that I will not be owning one any time soon. Unless someone wants to loan me $3500? It's the Octopus Triptych by Lord Bodner and is available in several colors, my favorite being the inky blue color.

I also saw this photo on Apartment Therapy. Cool octo print on those AMAZING laquered walls.

Since, I first layed eyes on those photos, it seems that I see octopuses everywhere. And thankfully, in more afforable options. So yes, it is possible to add a little octopus to your home and not break the bank.

Here are a few options from Anthropologie:

Kristen from 6th Street Design School just ordered this Thomas Paul shower curtain for her son's bathroom. I can't wait to see the rest of the room. A great piece to start with if you ask me!

If you can't imagine it in your home, what about in your wardrobe with this great Thomas Paul Shawl?

So what do you think? See a little octopus in your home anytime soon?
