Chevron Table.

A while back, I came across this table on Pinterest. Pinned it, of course, and then admired it some more as it kept coming up as others pinned it as well.

My question for you is... do you think my guy could make me one? I haven't told him this plan yet but I think it looks relatively simple (?) and I quite adore it. I guess first step would be finding some reclaimed lumber? Also curious to know if anyone knows the original source. My searching turned up nothing. I guess you can tell that I have dining rooms on the brain!

Thanks for all your tips and suggestions for styling my bookcase. I will try to remember each one as I continue to pick away at it!

We have a big birthday party planned here on Saturday night. I'll die if it storms.. what it with the weekend storms this year anyway? FYI.. It isn't supposed to be that way Mother Nature.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

  2. I'm sure he could do it. I've had that image pinned as well. Love it! Wish I had a source for you but I don't. Selfishly, I'd love for your hubby to make it so you could share the how-to with the rest of us!

  3. Um, I need one of these. REAL BAD. :)

I think this could definitely be done with a good plan and a pile of lumber. The hardest part is probably the angled legs. Good luck!

  4. Angles are horrible!!! You'd better be extra sweet to him to get this one done!!!!!

  5. You think you could make it out of pallet wood? I'm on a kick with that stuff--just finished up my son's room by putting it on the ceiling. Pretty sweet stuff--posted about it this week. I asked my husband if he could make me a chevron pallet floor--I think he thought I was crazy. I do love all things chevron. I'm sure you'll keep us posted if you get the thumbs up from your man;) Good luck!

  6. I think its totally do-able! My husband is making a herringbone patterned headboard right now and its been fairly manageable once he figured out the angles. If you decide to go forward with it, send me a message and I'll pass along some of the details.

  8. Absolutely lovely! I'd just make sure to shellac it so crumbs and other lovelies don't end up in all the seams - trust me, this happens with grooved/seamed tables! Good luck with the pitch and happy weekend!

  9. I think this looks trickier than it is. The boards could be lined up and attached to one another and then cut the angles. If you look close, you will see some boards that meet at the seams aren't even the same width. And ditto Kat on the pallet wood. It's a pain to tear them apart but you don't need long pieces so you could just cut them off the pallet.

  12. This isn't the exact one, but it's a herringbone table http://www.designsponge.com/2011/08/before-after-herringbone-wood-dining-table.html

  13. Hi Jane, you could make this pattern from reclaimed lath (the wood strips that were used with plaster to make a wall in older homes). I don't know the original source, but I work with it all the time myself. You need a solid base, glue, a nail gun and some lath that's been cleaned off; cutting the lath at a 45 degree angle won't be a problem with a table saw. Let me know if you have any questions.

  19. I would not put it in the freezer for а long time, you
can put it in the freezeг for a couplе
of hourѕ but I would not put іt in there for а
couple of weeks. When yοu аre bаking
breaԁ, you can гaise the breаd dough in
the cold oven and then just turn on the oνen to the correct
temрerature once the bread is raised. Sοmetimеs thе pizza slice sellеr will place
