I've always loved a white kitchen. Wood is, of course, very beautiful but I'm always drawn to the crisp, clean look of a white kitchen. In fact, when I did my own kitchen, I didn't consider any other options.
Lately, I'm drooling over a different version. Shades of grey! I am seeing it everywhere and I'm totally smitten. I still love my white cupboards but I'm not so much dreading the day they need to be repainted. Maybe I'll be going a different direction next time.
What do you think? Are you seeing it around as much as I am? Are you swooning over it too?
A big welcome to my new followers who came over from
hodge:podge yesterday! It's great to have you!

I love white kitchens , they are clean crisp and classic , my last two kitchens were both white , but my next kitchen will be soft grey with accents of a blue grey on some cabinets I think , love the grey , its new and fresh but one note I think lighting would be very important or it could become dark and dreary.
I agree--they're bangin'!
I am so over the white thing!!! Those grey cabinets are AMAZING. I especially like the grey tones that look a little sage green.
Time for a change!!!!!!!!!
I'm loving gray right now too (especially the ones wit brass hardware).
I adore these kitchens...the chandeliers are lovely!
Gorgeous! Love this classic meets edgy look.
I LOVE grey kitchens, these are beautiful!
I'm with you - I've been loving grey, too. But your kitchen is lovely, and so classic, so don't fret!
I just love the darker gray with the white island. Really stunning. I LOVE your kitchen.
Definitely swooning! Especially over the fourth one with the beigier gray and the rustic island. Thanks for sharing! -Teresa
I kinda love grey anything at the moment but yes, I think grey kitchens are gorgeous.
Grey is such a soothing chill color. Wish it matched our decor more so I could use it, but totally opposite of what we have:-)
Love the blog!
I'm like you always had a thing for white. But grey is really peaking my interests lately. Love these grey kitchens. Carrie
I like them, especially the darker ones...but I think I would tire of it sooner than a white.
These are absolutely swoon worthy. They create such a warm feel to the kitchen. Not something I had thought about, but I instantly love the idea.
I love a white kitchen too and would have painted ours white but for the cream counters and stove hood in our rental. So, I painted them grey instead. (The lowers.) It made a huge difference, but I wish I had gone darker, like some of the photos you show here.

Seriously swoon worthy...I think I really like the idea of gray as opposed to white because I think it would hide dirt and finger prints better (c: Maybe I shouldn't make my design decisions based on that criteria! (c:
Your inspiraton photos are amazing! I especially love the one with the cutting boards and the Martha Stewart ones with the rolling pins; if I recall, that was from her set on her t.v. show.
I love the softness of the gray cabinets and it looks beautiful paired with the wood. I saw a kitchen photo that I loved with a soft blue cabinets paired with white marble and it was gorgeous.
