Kristy was inspired by this chair from Lonny mag. She thought it would look perfect in her master bedroom.
Inspired, Kristy decided to transform an old upholstered chair with none other than paint! Check out the before:
And the pretty amazing after:
I love the color, the white legs and the nailhead trim!
I've been tossing around the idea of painting some pillows like Abby did. Painting a piece of furniture never crossed my mind. What do you think? Would you ever paint upholstered furniture?
Head on over to Kristy's blog. She's going to post the how-to on Wednesday. I'm curious:)
Absolutely gorgeous!!!!
ReplyDeleteIts definitely beautiful, but I've read that painted upholstery gets "crunchy" Because of this, I probably wouldn't try it on a full piece of furniture, but on a throw cushion? For sure.
ReplyDeleteI think its a great idea...and I'm always open to trying new ideas.
ReplyDeleteWOW, I need to check that out! Thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic. I never would've thought to paint upholstery... but I guess if there is a right way, it would be a whole lot easier than reupholstering (in some cases!)
ReplyDeleteWill definitely have to check out that how-to!
Thanks for the shout out!
ReplyDeleteHer chair looks amazing. so much better! I would be nervous it would feel crunchy as well. I have considered adding a line of paint as "trim" on the base off my sofa and to frame out the back cushions.
Will you try it?

Really? I have too many kiddos to trust this and would probably just choose to reupholster. You know, do it right and do it once.
ReplyDeleteWHAT????
ReplyDeleteI need to check this out!
Thanks
Jane

ReplyDeleteWow! What a beautiful transformation. I would have never guessed it was paint! I will have to check back for the how-to!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to see her how-to. I would have never thought of doing this & it looks beautiful!
ReplyDeletewow, this is quite the project. I am dying to sit on it, I wonder if the paint ever bleeds? Regardless, I love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome transformation! Love the nailheads...great detail! xo
ReplyDeleteThat is wild! It looks great!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a transformation! It is hard to imagine that it is painted. I would be skeptical to try it, I am afraid it would feel crunchy. I can't wait to see the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! How awesome. I wonder if it's comfy!
ReplyDeleteWow- it came out amazing! I love that she also painted the legs white. It looks great! I wonder how it feels to sit on the painted fabric. So cool!
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of peacock blues so this looks right up my alley. Beautiful nailtrim too!
