March Break Finds.

One of my goals during the March Break was to seek out some good finds at the local antique and used furniture stores. I didn't have much luck on my first trip out. Then, on the weekend I hit up Coulson's (my favorite) and had a little success!

I scored this great coffee table for $10. Although I love my diy upholstered ottoman, it drives me crazy that I can't set my glass of vino or cup of coffee on it. And, every time Beaufort walks by it, a trail of fur appears on the sides. Besides, I love to switch things up, so it just may make an appearance again.

The table is a good size for the space and I'm enamoured with it's sleek curvy legs. Can't wait to see it with a coat of glossy white paint!
Call me crazy, but I couldn't walk away from this one. For $5 I had to take this little metal cart home. I think it was used to hold a record player. I'm thinking it will make a great bar cart in the dining room or in my office to hold supplies.

Wouldn't it be fun painted a sunny yellow? Or should I just leave it and shine it up a bit?

How cute is Beaufort? He just loves the sun on his face:)

Back to work today! Have a great Monday:)

  7. Both of your finds are just fantastic.

The bar cart is probably one of the best things around.

    Okay.

I know it isn't a bar cart, but it is certainly fitting to be one.

Painting the coffee table yellow will make you feel so much happier.

Just think, it wasnt a huge expense, so if you dont like it you can stain it back!

    Great finds!!!

  12. Great bargains! I hear ya on the ottoman, had to move mine elsewhere as well.

As for the coffee table, would you consider black? The silhouette seems like it would work well in black. Either way it'll be pretty.

PS- wish you lived closer so Beaufort and Bailey could have a play date!

  15. Loving the finds, especially the cart. You should definitely turn it into a bar cart and I actually like the brassy look. A fun color would be great too though!

  16. Those are 2 very amazing finds. I am in desperate need of a new coffee table and that would be just the right fit. Yellow would be awesome but the reader above might be right that grey would be nice. Love the cart as well. Beaufort is a cutie patootie.

  17. Hey Jane! Thanks so much for becoming a follower at Welcome to Heardmont! I had to stop by and check out your blog. I have to say I love that little cart you found. 6 months ago, I would have said paint it, but lately I'm really loving gold accents. Maybe you could just the black shelves a fun color? Anyway, I hope you're having a great day and thanks for the follow. :)

  20. Great finds. I could totally see your coffee table painted white. I think that cart is going to be so useful - I could see it painted a striking colour (yellow? turquoise?) with storage boxes in a coordinating fabric/paper. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
