A bit of a quiet March Break, but an enjoyable one! I've been doing some housecleaning, hanging with the pup and spent some time with the girls and the new babies in our circle. So fun:)

I've also been working on redoing the guest room. I painted the room a soft cream when I first moved in and then never really decorated it. It's been driving me crazy! I don't really have much of a direction right now, but I made these pillows last night in an attempt to get moving on it.

I'm new to sewing so putting in a zipper just isn't happening!
You can kinda tell I didn't get around to sewing the bottoms yet:)

I did some thrift shopping without much success, but I have a couple of other stores to hit up before the end of the week so you never know!
I'm off to visit a friend today, but before I go, here is a picture to remember the beautiful Elizabeth Taylor...

  6. Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't finished their guest bedroom yet : ) Ours is beach house inspired. I love your stripes.

  7. Your pillows look great. Why dont' you just stitch the pillows closed with the machine, rather than trying to do a zipper at this point (it is easier to put in at the beginning). You can use a looser stitch, in case you need to clean the pillows, and just pinch the material and sew as close to the edge as you can.

I hadn't seen that Elizabeth Taylor had passed away - seeing as how I'm blogging at my lunch break at work. She really was one of the most beautiful women.

Your pilllows look amazing though, love the navy and the stripes! I recently got a sewing machine from my grandma and want to learn for these exact projects but haven't yet given it the old try...good luck with finishing them up! (can't you just peel and stick velcro or something??)
