A Bigger + Better Plate Wall.

I didn't buy a whole lot on our trip to Halifax, but I did score some cute new plates for my plate wall!

I shared the plate wall in my kitchen way back November of last year. I had a couple of plates that I had picked up at Home Sense and one I'd found on our trip to Quebec City. Then, I added a couple of Christmas plates, which I'll admit stayed up all year. Hey, no one noticed!

Since then, I've been hunting high and low for cute patterned plates to add but I've had no luck! On Saturday I scored a few more! I was so anxious to get them up on the wall that I just started hammering away. I will likely move things around a little bit but generally I'm liking the random pattern.

Notice the Christmas plates are still there? Good timing:)

Sorry for the dark photos. I feel like I'm never home in the daylight! I tried to bump up the brightness a little bit. The light is also reflecting of the chandelier which is pretty in person but just plain annoying in photos!

Do you have any good sources for pretty plates? I want to add a few more. I hadn't necessarily intended to go only black and white, it just happened that way. I'm open to some color!

I am anxious to get going on my Christmas decorating but we are in the midst of a couple of projects here. I plan to get a good chunk done on the weekend, then it's tree time!! The best part :)

I finally have a plate wall!

Remember when I decided I wanted a plate wall? Well, I finally got one! It took me a while, since I had a really hard time finding plates that I liked. I've finally accumulated a few. Most of them are from Winners/Homesense at just a couple of dollars each. One is from my trip to Quebec City - a little souvenir!

Not surprisingly, they are mostly shades of white and blue. I didn't realize until I pulled them out to hang, that they were all so similar. Originally I had thought colorful and fun, but I love the white plates against the blue wall in the kitchen. The wall is rather large, so I will be able to add to it over time. I will also switch them out with the seasons (I have a couple of Christmas ones thrown in for now).

This one is my favorite:

So pretty!

It looks pretty at night with the reflection of the chandelier:

For now they are hung with standard plate hangers that I picked up at Walmart. If I decide that I like it and the plate wall is there to stay, I may consider buying adhesive plate hangers.
Fellow blogger, Joi, from Nuestra Vida Dulce, has used them and I like how you can't see any of the wire.
Isn't her kitchen plate wall adorable? So colorful and fun!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I just got back from gathering sticks and branches with my mom and sister, for our outdoor holiday pots. I smell like pine, but I love it because it reminds me that Christmas will soon be here! Although, between now and then, I'm appreciating these beautiful days!

I LOVE A GOOD PLATE WALL

I've decided I want a plate wall.
Not like the ones at your Gramma's house but one just like these.
The problem is I have been collecting pretty plates and I only have 3. So I'll keep you posted.
Okay, maybe not over my head while I'm sleeping.
And this one is a little much. But wow, I love it!

Like this one! So cute.

 Or this one.
This one is cute too. I really wouldn't mind having my breakfast right at that table. Dizzy stripes and all!
 What do you think?
