DIY Abstract Art.

It was a rainy weekend and Saturday morning we decided to get out the acrylic paint, brushes and canvases. We do this from time to time and I, for one, am a terrible artist. I always try to draw object, like trees, flowers or worse, I've attempted people. It's honestly hard to tell that I ever took art lessons as a child.

This time I stuck to abstract and I actually put some of it out on display! I'm certainly not a skilled artist but a little diy certainly added some color to the mantel in my living room.

I made a couple of similar mini ones. I framed up this one and placed it on a side table.

Have you ever tried your hand at abstract art?

Linking up to Cassie's "In About an Hour" Party. It actually took less than that!

  5. You are my hero! I've been trying to create some art for my dining room. I bought a giant canvas, but it is still blank. I'm practicing on smaller canvases for now, hopefully I can create something as lovely as yours.

  6. This is one of those things I've always wanted to try, but I swear I'm even terrible at abstract art ;) I especially love the little one you framed - great job!

  9. Love it! How many different colors did you use to create this piece and did you prime the canvas first? I heard that priming it black first makes the colors more vibrant.

  10. I love the colors you used. This looks like a professional piece of art that people would pay lots of money for. My kids and I tried our hand at some canvas art this week, and I am so happy how it turned out.
