Can you guess what these photos have in common?
I guess after yesterday's post, you think I'm into making you guess at everything!
Humor me and play along:)

Did you guess? If you think wall color, you got it! All these photos feature Benjamin Moore's new Color of the Year 2012. It's Wythe Blue HC-143.
I'm not surprised by the choice of blue. It's inherently classic yet has the ability to soothe and calm us. Plus, it's ever popular in bathroom and sea/beach inspired designs.
I actually considered this color for my front door, until you all convinced me to keep the green! I'm still considering it for the porch ceiling, like the above photo. Ahhh... but then I'd have to nix the green door.. hmmm... I'll worry about that next summer!
Fun fact of the day for you! Wythe Blue is the color of the foyer in the Mad Men home of Don and Betty. If you are a crazed fan of the show, like me, it's cool to know! Check it out.
I'm off to two days of Teacher's Convention. Always a good way to feel inspired and recharged! I'm hoping I don't seize up in the afternoon. I completed the toughest CrossFit workout (actually workout in general) of my life last night. The workout was called "Filthy Fifty", which included 50 of everything. Kinda loved it though:)
Anyway, I'm curious. What do you think of Wythe Blue?
Have you used it in your home?
Do you have a favorite paint color?
That color is pretty and looks different in each of the pictures with different lighting. It reminds me of a few rooms in my grandmother's home.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at your convention. A few days out of the classroom will be nice.
I love a hard workout! It's good to get your booty kicked every once in a while. And then you feel so proud of yourself!
I like it! My dining room has a colour very close to it and I've found it goes with so many accent colours - chocolate brown, orange, all sorts of reds, pale yellow and pink to name a few.
ReplyDeleteI really like it on the porch ceiling - can't wait to see if you try it :)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a pretty color, I'm a huge fan of BM's historical colors! I have Woodlawn Blue for my dining room Manchester Tan for my kitchen. Now I'm going to check out the other top colors of the year..thanks for posting this!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I've actually been looking for a colour like this for my living room. Do you think it would be okay for a living room??
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty color - you had me at "hello". Between that color and the herringbone floors, I'm swooning! :-) Such a classic combination.
ReplyDeleteI love that blue. In Charleston people often paint there porch ceilings a similar color. It's supposed to keep the mosquitoes away. (I think)

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the color of the year. I'd love to paint my teeeny tiny balcony that color because once you take the stairs down to our patio, I have sky and aqua colored accents on our patio furntire.
ReplyDeleteinteresting to see how different it looks in different spaces & lighting. Shows how difficult it can be to mimic a space you love even if you've match the paint colour exactly.
ReplyDeleteI like how calming & fresh it feels.
LOVE that color! i just chose palladian blue for when i paint emmy's room- it is a hair lighter but in the same family.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I love it!
ReplyDeleteI love this color and mad men!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a gorgeous color...I'm already a huge fan of blue, but this one is so fun because it's light enough not to be overwhelming, but still has enough real color to be absolutely stunning! Love the Mad Men fun fact (c:
ReplyDeletei think you can safely paint the porch ceiling that color and keep your green door. porches in the south often/typically have light blue ceilings and a different color of door. plus, i used green and a turquoise blue for my wedding colors-- they might look great together on your porch!
ReplyDeletelove the blog. a friend turned me onto it and i am a total addict now. you've inspired me so much.
Loving this color! I really like it in the kitchen with the red stools, what a pop! One of my favorite colors right now is Granite Grey by Behr. Carrie
ReplyDeleteI love this color... and would love to find a place for it! Maybe in the next house!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time away!

I really love it in the first photo. It really reads differently in all of these images. But a really fresh, clean, pretty color.
ReplyDeleteSo clearly I'm the only person who didn't know that BM has a colour of the year. I love this blue. I've used it for clients in the past and always thought of it as perfect for more traditional spaces but I see here it can be contemporary as well. I"m still obsessing over Pantone's colour of the year from 2 years ago...turquoise.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that color. I hadn't known of it until this post and am smitten now! And I love it even more that it's in Mad Men!
ReplyDeleteLove that blue...so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with this color. Thinking about using it on a Craiglist find. I've mentioned you in my recent post... "My Pinterest Interest." Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis is the color I chose for our bonus room . . .accent wall or whole thing depending on how it goes. Excited. My office is in there so it should be calming. Fingers crossed. Great post.
ReplyDeleteYou know you are a design junkie when you scroll three pictures down and say Wythe Blue before getting to the bottom of the post. I need help.
