I had paint out from doing some touch ups on the bookshelf so I figured why not give it a quick coat of paint? It literally took me 20 minutes to give it a quick coat then I went back and hour later and gave it another quick coat.
A few glass knobs and it feels fresh and new! Well not new maybe, but newer-ish. Gotta love upcycling!
I'll be back tomorrow with some progress shots of the bookcase. I was a bit over-ambitious about getting all the styling done. I had to prime and paint the new shelves and then realized I likely shouldn't put anything on them for a couple of days. Bummer. I was able to do a few shelves though. Here's a peek.
People laugh at the dog. I think he's cute. Plus, my Dad gave him to me :)
I hope you all had a great weekend!
The dresser looks great! White paint is the solution to so many problems in the world. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove where your bookcases are headed. Looking forward to the results.

Sweet! Love reusing stuff!!
ReplyDeleteLooking good! I need to take your lead and freshen up a few things, too. LOVE those glass knobs!

Dresser looks great - love the glass knobs.
ReplyDeleteThe dresser looks lovely! Totally hear you on the old dresser drawers not working - completely takes away from the charm of having an old dresser when you can't stand opening the drawers! Looking forward to your book shelf reveal! Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteGreat makeover. I like the simple approach, just a basic coat with new knobs. Sometimes a very dramatic makeover can be over the top and detract from the piece, so this is perfect.
ReplyDeleteLooks great. I love your dog! There is nothing like items with sentimental value to make a house feel homey!
ReplyDeleteI would never deny a girl an opportunity to get a new mirror, what about filling in the space with astack of books and a plate on a stand or picture on an easel?
ReplyDeleteYour dresser is super cute!

What a sweet dresser! Can't wait to see those bookshelves!
ReplyDeleteReally like the dresser - sometimes simple is best. Can't wait to see the finished bookshelves. The dog reminds me of a ceramic siamese cat my husband's mother gave me. My husband thinks it's so weird, but I love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, if the drawers work well, little else matters! And look how adorable it is with a little bling! (c;
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do some research on this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more clear from this post. I'm very glad to see such excellent info being shared freely out there.

I want to show some appreciation to the writer for bailing me out of such a instance. Because of surfing around through the online world and getting tips which were not powerful, I was thinking my entire life was well over. Existing without the presence of approaches to the problems you have sorted out through this website is a crucial case, as well as ones that could have in a negative way damaged my career if I had not encountered your web blog. Your own training and kindness in controlling every item was valuable. I am not sure what I would have done if I had not come upon such a thing like this. I can at this point relish my future. Thank you so much for your high quality and effective help. I won't be reluctant to endorse your blog to any person who needs to have care on this area.
