A Fun & Feminine House Tour.
It's been a while since I shared one of my favorite home tours! This one is the home of Marlie Waks, created with the help of her sister, Style at Home design editor, Jessica Waks. I fell in love with this white, eclectic, modern space with it's fun pops of color and feminine personality when it graced the pages of the June issue.
Of course, I love her extensive collection of Penguin Classics and now I may just have a thing for flamingos..:)

A Beautiful Reno.
A busy weekend... scrambling to get my report cards finished. I start early every time then it's a mad rush to finish them up the night before. Same thing every time! An awesome meeting with our vendor group about the next styled wedding shoot that we are putting together. Nothing like an evening with some like-minded women to get your creative juices flowing! I love a good renovation. Especially in historical homes that were made to feel modern yet stay true to the architecture of the original structure. I came across a tour, at Desire to Inspire, of a home that make my heart swoon. It's the home of the couple behind the blog 47 Park Avenue. It reminds me very much of Stephane's home, which he recently sold. The renovation, while not my first instinct style-wise (yet LOVE), is unbelievable. You must check out the full tour but here is a sample of the before and after.

Bright + Cheery House Tour.
Sometimes I feel like there aren't enough hours in day. Yesterday consisted of working all day, skipping over to Frenchy's in search of pieces for a Halloween costume, picking paint colors for a client, exercise, making supper, tidying up, snuggling Beauf., and finally fitting in the latest Boardwalk Empire episode (love btw). Can someone tell me how people with children do it all! :) So much for finishing my latest diy, and other activities planned! Oh well, another day.
Remember I won this necklace? It was made by the creative Jess Constable. She's the brains behind the blog Makeunder My Life and the shop Jess LC. Yesterday, her bright and sunny apartment was featured on Apartment Therapy.

On busy days, I dream of having a place just like hers. Far from over the top, it feels serene and calm yet cheery at the same time. I love the palette, the mix of patterns and the simple vignettes. How could you not sit, relax and smile if that was where you were cozying in for the evening?

Ellen & Portia's Home Sweet Home.
A day off today and a sunny one at that! We are heading out for a drive this afternoon to check out the progress on a good friend's new home. I've only heard bits and pieces about it but she has fab taste so I know it's going to be fantastic! I can't wait!
I little something different for you today... Who isn't a fan of lovable Ellen and her beautiful wife Portia? Well, their Beverly Hills home is nothing short of spectacular. I checked out the preview article in Architectural Digest. I just may have to pop out and get a copy of the November issue. Sometimes things are just so much better in print!

Cozy, relaxed and personal... just what makes a house a home, in my humble opinion! I mean seriously, what's not to love? A neutral palette, great art, incredible rugs and textiles, rustic antiques, steel windows and I could keep going.. Plus, I'll take both shoe collections thank you very much!
Aren't you just so glad that they have such a down to earth style? What a great couple!
