I showed you the pictures of the new pillows, the headboard and the dresser that we refinished. Then things were at a bit of a standstill as we got the deck torn down and started rebuilding and painted the dining room. More on those another day!
Anyway, here is where I'm at with the bedroom. The mirror we wanted to use with the dresser was a bit too small scale for the space. I decided to offset it to the left and add a couple of prints to the other side. I love the pink flamingo from eastwitching's etsy shop but the heart is just a free printable that I will likely soon replace.
Add in some books, a plant and some accessories (an empty frame!) and it's done! For now:)
Hard to get a good photo from this angle but here is a try! Everything looks crooked!
Annoying.. just noticed the crooked knob:( |
I am desperately searching for crisp white curtains for the room. Something sheer and breezy (but not actual sheers!). Would you believe there is nothing around? I'm thinking about these from West Elm. Any other suggestions?
I've run into the same roadblock. You'd think simple white curtains would be an easy thing to find - not su much.
ReplyDeleteI love natural wood paired with some colorful accessories, digging the flamingo :)
ReplyDeleteI have some simple white curtains from ikea, they're a nice weight and pretty cheap...also cotton like the west elm ones (if you live near one of their stores).
I second IKEA. I bought the vivan curtains in white for $19.99 a pair after I saw them in Lauren's bedroom from pure style home . They looked breezy and light and had to get that look.
ReplyDeletehere's a link for Lauren's room- it's beautiful & feminine. I'm sure you'll like it.

I cant wait to see everything when its complete. I'll be painting our bedroom this June. I know Ikea has white curtains that are long but $19.99 for two and I love them. Easy to clean and trim if to long.
ReplyDeleteJust started following. I love finding great Canadian design blogs! Love the pink flamingo.
ReplyDeletei have the 'for like ever' print in my bedroom and it makes me smile every time i see it :) xx
ReplyDeleteMy friend got some from JC Penney home for $8 a panel, they have grommet tabs...don't know if they ship to Canada...good luck!
ReplyDeleteReally smart idea to just move the mirror to the left and add the artwork. Very cool look! You have such a great eye.
ReplyDeleteI love the pink flamingo art print -- love the whole vignette! The white drapery panels via the link are lovely. Thanks for passing by my blog and sharing a comment!
ReplyDeletehave you tried jcpenney? believe it or not i've had really good luck with curtains from them...

ReplyDeleteLooking good! Pottery Barn has some breezy white curtains.
ReplyDeleteThe dresser looks amazing... and I love the styling! Great job... the flamingo is super fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I like simple white Ikea panels! I just finally got around to framing my Eastwiching print I won from your giveaway! It looks fabulous in a white Ribba frame with a custom mat!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty - I love simple!
ReplyDeleteIt is looking great so far! I am a new reader to your blog and just love it! I am also in the process of redesigning my home. Starting with the powder room. I have had paint chips haning in there for a week now so I guess I am not moving along too quickly either LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI was going to suggest checking out West Elm! They have fabulous stuff. :) I just bought these and I love that they let in some soft light. http://www.westelm.com/products/opaque-linen-grommet-window-panel-r296/?pkey=cwindow-panels-curtains-shades
ReplyDeleteLooks great Jane and I just got caught up on your other bedroom posts. Everything looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKing size flat sheets? (I've never tried this:)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it really weird how hard it is to find white curtains. I just went through this with my living room. I actually have that West Elm curtain you mentioned in white for the window in our upstairs hallway and I would not saw that it is by any means sheer. It is definitely more of a canvas, heavier look. For my living room I ended up getting the IKEA Ritva curtains. They were only $25 a pair and still provide privacy but are thinner and more breezy looking and almost have a look of linen to them.
